Top 5 Tips for Using Disneyland’s MaxPass

Picture
Disneyland recently rolled out a new digital FastPass system for their parks. It can all be done on your smartphone with the updated Disneyland app. It allows you to make FastPasses without having to physically go to a FastPass kiosk. They will still be linked to your paper ticket. You can redeem your FastPass with the app or your actual ticket. A huge bonus to MaxPass is that PhotoPass is also included in the cost. MaxPass will cost $10 per day per ticket. On our recent visit to Disneyland, my family and I tried out MaxPass. It was very easy to use and worth it for my family! I did learn a few tricks while using it that I wanted to pass on to you! Here you go!
I did learn a few tricks while using that I wanted to pass on to you!  Here you go!!
  1. Learn your credit card security code. MaxPass can be added to your tickets when booking your package orpurchased everyday once you enter the parks.  If you choose to purchase day by day, then this tip is for you.  If you have a credit card saved to your account, it can be used to purchase MaxPass.  All you will need is your security code from your card to complete the transaction.  I learned my code and was able to purchase MaxPass as we walked to our first destination - all without pulling out my credit card!
  2. Remember it includes Photopass. MaxPass has two components - the FastPasses and PhotoPass!  You will get a unique scan code in your Disneyland app that will link pictures to your account. A PhotoPass photographer gave me a great tip to take a screenshot of your scan code and set it as your lock screen. That helps you access it easily and quickly for them to scan!  Some people have also saved it as their watch face for easy scanning. You can also use their PhotoPass card and link your pictures if you prefer! One card is all you will ever need. Even you come back a year later, the same card will still work!
  3. Keep your tickets handy! In the app, you do have the ability to scan your FastPasses without using your physical tickets.  I, however, had issues with this. A cast member told me it probably had to do with the brightness of my phone screen. Instead of trying to adjust it, I just opted to use my park tickets and it worked great! Disneyland has also started to install sunscreens on some of their FastPass redemption machines to aid in the ability to scan from your phone.
  4. Set a timer to remind you to make your next FastPass. At Disneyland your FastPasses can overlap times.  The next time you can get a FastPass depends on when you pulled your last one when the next FastPass starts (it bases it it off of which one gives you an early time to pull again.) I promise you will lose track of time if you do not set an alarm. You do not have to get a new FastPass when you are eligible, but if you want to maximize the digital system, an alarm is your best bet!
  5. Remember that you can make fastpasses for the other park. This was probably my favorite feature and what really made this service worth it for me.  We wanted to start our day at Disneyland, but knew we wanted to ride Radiator Springs Racers that afternoon.  As soon as we entered Disneyland I bought MaxPass and secured a Racer FastPass without even setting foot in Disney California Adventure!
