My year of travel was 2019. I was able to travel to Disney World several times for agent training and family trips. I spent spring break at Disneyland and Southern California exploring new adventures on the West Coast. I traveled to 11 different theme parks and even cruised with Disney Cruise Line. I took amazing vacations and by the end of the year I had traveling down to a science. I even knew all the crew at the Columbus airport and had favorite TSA agents!

Then, COVID hit. After not traveling anywhere for over a year I realized my travel rhythm was off. I had a hard time packing and everything in 2021 was different.

I learned some things struggling with a few trips. I hope my experiences and takeaways can help as you prepare for your next trip!

Bring ponchos and rain coats from home.

I love Disneyland. It is probably my favorite vacation destination out there. I love everything about it. We live in Colorado and often drive out there. I even love that! I have stayed at all three Disney properties, and I have toured or stayed in many of the Good Neighbor Hotels. Today I would like to offer my opinion as to why I much prefer to stay “on-site” or at a Disney property.

I often get asked what kind of bag I use at the parks. While it’s great to have a backpack so you can bring everything you need, that can get cumbersome for a full day. Knowing that the days are long and active, I like to keep it as comfortable and simple as possible. People are really shocked when I tell them I carry a fanny pack. Yes, a fanny pack. And I LOVE IT!
