Walt Disney World- Unexpected Magic Part 1

Anyone who has been a guest at any Disney property knows that the Cast Members go out of their way to make everyone’s visit as magical as possible. In all kinds of weather, 365 days a year, tens of thousands of hard-working individuals sprinkle pixie dust on park guests. Many of my most vivid memories of Disney vacation experiences have come from completely unexpected – and pixie dusted – experiences.

Mayoral Encounter
On an October 2009 trip with my husband, the weather was unseasonably and unbearably HOT. We were sweaty and grumpy when we walked up to The Plaza restaurant on Main Street U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom for our lunch reservation. In serious need of air conditioning and water, we ordered quickly and then, as we were enjoying our lunches, in walks Mayor Weaver. He introduced himself and then acknowledged one of the Cast Members, who had been working at The Plaza for more than 15 years. After a generous round of applause, Mayor Weaver began asking questions of the assembled guests.

More Details on Pandora- The World of Avatar at Disney World

If you've been following developments at Walt Disney World the past few years than you'd know that Disney Imagineering and acclaimed movie creator James Cameron have teamed up to build Pandora- the World of Avatar. During the last D23 Expo we learned that this new land is a key part of the expansion of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and will feature awe-inspiring floating mountains, a nighttime jungle of bioluminescent plants as well as an amazing new attraction called Avatar Flight of Passage.

Well now we are getting more details on this amazing new land set to open in 2017.

Star Wars Coming to Disney World December 1st

Back in August the news we'd all been waiting for was released-- Star Wars was officially coming to Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World... Or at least a significantly expanded version of what we already have with Star Tours.

Today we heard some additional details of near term Star Wars attractions. Opening on December 1st will be several new experiences to help tie us over until the opening of the much larger Star Wars Land!
