Top 5 Reasons to Cruise From New York City

​Typically when we think of cruising we think about sailing from the many ports of Florida.  That is what I used to think too!  There are so many great destinations from New York that can fit any budget and offer unique ports of call for many desired destinations.

I had a client that wanted to cruise but didn’t want to fly.  We shared the journey to find the best itinerary for her family.  While working with my client I came up with 5 great reason to sail from New York City:

1. Time saved by not having to fly – we left my house in Northern New Jersey and were at Cape Liberty in 45 minutes.  There were many parking places to choose from, however I’d recommend hiring a car service because it is more convenient.
2. There are so many itinerary options to choose from – you can go to Bermuda, the eastern or southern Caribbean, Bahamas, Canada and even Europe!
3. Multiple cruise lines to choose from – with nearly every major cruise line sailing from Cape Liberty you have your pick of which one you prefer! Even Disney Cruise Line sails from our awesome port from time to time!
4. Year round sailings – imagine setting sail for the Caribbean in February, you can get away from the cold and the snow for warmer weather in the south! Sailing to Canada during September and October is a wonderful way to see the fall foliage.
5. Amazing sights as you leave Cape Liberty – Nothing can compare to sailing past Lady Liberty and seeing the New York skyline as you leave and return from your trip. Don't forget your camera for some great photo opportunities of your family members with NYC in the background!
