Top 5 'Extras' to Budget for at Disney World

While we plan ahead there are always unexpected things that come up when on vacation! There are a couple of things you will want to budget for when heading to Disney World.

1. Taxi transportation. If you have an early morning dining reservation that extra couple of minutes a taxi can save you is huge. I have also run into situations where the monorail is down or buses are delayed and have resorted to hiring a taxi so that I could make my reservation on time. 
2. Souvenirs. You can't visit the Happiest Place on Earth and not come back with a t-shirt or other souvenir! Disney does a great job of marketing to our family and you will find store at the end of nearly every ride with some fun merchandise.
3. Gratuities. Be sure to bring singles along to tip the Bell Hop ($1 per bag), valet attendant ($3-5), and "Mousekeeper" ($1 per day, per person). If you have purchased your dining plan with your Magic Your Way package, please keep in mind that gratuities are NOT included. You will want to make sure and budget extra money for this as well.
4. ​Extra Snacks and Drinks. The moment you walk into the parks you are greeted by amazing smells of sweets and snacks! It truly adds to the magic of a Disney vacation! From funnel cakes, popcorn, fudge, cupcakes, etc you will have many options. Trying different snacks is part of the experience of any theme park vacation so be sure to indulge! 
5. Disney Springs. Disney Springs, formerly known as Downtown Disney, is full of shopping, dining and entertainment experiences. Make time to explore this area and have extra room in your budget should you choose to see a movie, play a round of bowling, grab some chocolate at the Ghirardelli shop, etc!
