My Favorite Disney Traditions

​Each time my family goes to Walt Disney World we look forward to planning some of our favorite Disney traditions- those pieces that make our trips to Disney unique to our family! These are just a few of the special traditions my family loves. 

We always plan an arrival night dinner.
My family loves to head over to Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort- Kidani Village for an early dinner the night we arrive. The restaurant is amazing, and the views of the savannah make the trip out to the resort completely worthwhile! 

Pin Trading.
My kids plan which pins they’ll be bringing with them to trade long before we ever leave home, and then have the best time finding cast members with unique pins to swap. We also pick up special edition pins, or pins that hold a special significance.  When we arrive back home they love to look back at all the new pins they’ve collected! Whether the pin is just something cute that they traded for, or a pin to commemorate their first ride on Space Mountain, they all get sorted onto our pin boards. 

Do something new!
Whether it’s actually new, or just new to us, our first ride or attraction on our first day is always something we haven’t done before. My kids love helping me research all that is new to Disney World, or sometimes finding rides that I loved as a child but are new to them, and helping me to pick out which one gets the honor of being our first ride! 

Revisiting old favorites.
My favorite ride has been the same since I was a little girl- Dumbo! I love that my daughter also loves to ride Dumbo, and we sometimes ride it over and over just because it makes us both laugh. For my son, the special ride is the Tomorrowland Speedway, and it has been since his first trip. Carving out time to ride those rides that are special to your family will always be worth it!
