Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World

​In 2017, Walt Disney World rolled out their Mobile Ordering as part of their Disney World app on both Google and Apple phones. Ordering your meal at counter service restaurants is now easier than ever. On a Disney Dining Plan? The Mobile Ordering takes both credit card and Disney Dining Plan! Let’s dive in!

Over two trips, my family has used this app a lot to order our counter service meals, making it easier to decide what we want to eat and where we want to eat it. The Mobile Ordering experience is available at select counter service restaurants, but the list keeps growing each time we visit. With picky eaters in my party, I can show them the menu on my phone, order exactly what they want, and save me time getting in line trying to remember what each person wanted.
 
When you open the app to your profile, there is an icon labeled Order Food. When you select it, it pulls up a list of restaurants available to order from, grouped by park.  Select the restaurant you want to eat, and the app will pull up the information about it: how to walk there, their hours and cuisine it serves. Select Order Food and it pulls up the menu items, the cost and a description. Now the fun starts!

​I just pass around my phone to each person, they can select exactly what they want and add it to the cart. Once everything is in your cart, you just click the cart button and review your order. It verifies your payment option and takes your payment at this time. Head on over to the restaurant and go back into the app to let them know you are there. They will start making your order and when it is ready for you to pick up, they buzz your phone letting you know to go to the Mobile Ordering line. Done! You have your food without standing in line trying to remember what everyone wanted.
 
Mobile Ordering has been a wonderful experience that has given us more time to do what we want without having to stand in line just to get lunch. We used it for Aloha Isle for Dole Whips on a hot day and at Flametree BBQ for lunch. Ever been to Cosmic Rays and wanted chicken nuggets at one bay while wanting also a hamburger in a different bay? Mobile Ordering solves this with one order!
 
Mobile Ordering has become one of my favorite parts of the trip. Not only do I skip the lines, but I can see the menu before we decide where to go, making our vacation even more stress free, so I can spend more time enjoying my vacation and less time deciding where to eat.
