Explore Mexico: Chichén-Itzá

​Located in Yucatan, and considered one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World," by UNESCO, Chichen-Itza is an amazing site to behold. Initially established nearly 1,500 years ago, the area served as major focal point for the Mayan people over six centuries. 

At the center you will find the temples, ball game, and beautiful castle, Pyramid of Kukulkan. You can also see the Mayan Calendar stone. The engravings at the entrance represent the Toltec Warriors once on guard.

Chichen-Itza was one of the largest cities of Mayan culture and is likely to be one of the great mythical cities discussed in Mesoamerican lore. The diverse population and longevity of the site led to many amazing and unique architectural stylings throughout the city.
