Experience the Original This Summer at Disneyland

More than 60 years ago family entertainment was redefined as the gates opened on Disneyland Park in Southern California. This original masterpiece continues to embody the vision of Walt Disney by bringing unique and new experiences for guests to enjoy. This summer is no different, placing the park on our “Must Do” list!

​Summer 2017 at the Disneyland Resort is known as the “Summer of Heroes” with lots of brand new experiences.
 
Guardians of the Galaxy
 
Disneyland is bringing some of our favorite Marvel super heroes into Disney’s California Adventure Park. It all starts with Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission BREAKOUT attraction. In this thrilling ride you join with everyone’s favorite raccoon, Rocket, to help the Guardians escape the clutches of The Collector. The queue helps set the stage by taking you through The Collector’s archive. The ride itself offers six different experiences that change based on the background music during your experience.
 
In Hollywood Land you can also join Star-Lord and Gimora in a fun dance off. Once the party heats up, keep an eye out for Groot, who likes to arrive fashionably late. You’ll have plenty of time to see him though, because he’ll “stick” around as the party winds down.
 
New Character Experiences
 
The super heroes aren’t just limited to everyone’s favorite galactic misfits. Black Widow, Spiderman, and Captain America are all around for fun character experiences.
 
Kids age 6 to 12 can also sign up to train as an Avenger alongside Black Widow and Hawkeye. The fanfare announces that the eager participants are entering the training arena where they’ll be mentored by Hawkeye and Black Widow. The Avengers’ goal? To ensure that the novices have the brave heart and strong mind needed to join the ranks of the Avengers.

The Return of Classics
 
This summer, iconic Disneyland® Park attractions make their return with the reopening of “Fantasmic!,” the Rivers of America attractions and the Disneyland Railroad. These classic attractions – many of which have delighted Guests since the park’s opening day – are very special to Disneyland Park fans, and we are excited to celebrate their return.
 
New Updates Outside of the Parks
 
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is undergoing some exciting updates and the new pool areas are open for this summer!

The Redwood Pool, with its irregular shape, features earthy, organic-feeling materials, including rustic brown flagstone and multicolored brick bands and slide accents. Situated just behind the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure park, the 90-foot-long waterslide curves around a giant Redwood tree stump!
 
Golden flagstone is used throughout the Fountain Pool. The new urn-shaped fountain serves as the pool area’s centerpiece. Our original turtle fountain can now been seen nestled in the garden as a fun addition to the Craftsman-inspired landscape.
 
The quiet Mariposa Pool features serene bluestone laid in an ashlar (or rectangular) pattern creating a sleek look. For Guests who wish to stretch out and relax, private cabanas line the edge and are available for half-day or full-day rentals.
