Exciting New Changes Coming to Walt Disney World

Picture
If you love Disney Destinations like we do than this past weekend was an epic on with all the announcements of new attractions and experiences coming to Disney Parks. From more details on previously announced attractions to brand new concepts, there are many things that will keep you coming back for more over the next several years!
Toy Story Land and Hollywood Studios

First up, we now have confirmation on when Toy Story Land will be opening at Disney's Hollywood Studios-- summer 2018. This land will feature two new rides, featuring Slinky and the Aliens, and incorporate the already popular Toy Story Midway Mania. Exact dates are not known, but if Pandora World of Avatar is any indication we should expect early summer season.

Also coming to Hollywood Studios is the first-ever ride based on Mickey Mouse! Based on the latest Mickey shorts, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will feature a new story, a new “singable” theme song and 2 1/2 D technology. The ride will be replacing the Great Movie Ride at the park.
Star Wars

Also coming to Hollywood Studios is the brand new Star Wars Land in 2019. To be named Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the land will allow you to visit a remote trading port on the edge of wild space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life – and where guests will find themselves in the middle of the action.

The lands will feature two major attractions that put guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Each attraction – and even the land itself – will offer guests the chance to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe like never before.
But that is not all for Star Wars! Disney also announced plans for a brand new Star Wars themed luxury resort that will include immersive concepts never before seen at any theme park.
“It’s unlike anything that exists today.” Bob (Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resort) said. “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”

Reimagining of Epcot

All the fun won't just be left at Hollywoo Studios. Several new attractions will be coming to Epcot in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World in 2021.

Disney will be turning to two of its great movie's to help bring new life to the park. First, in Future World, you will find a brand new Guardians of the Galaxy ride. This thrilling adventure will add on to some of the already amazing experiences in that area of the park with Test Track and Mission: Space (which also will feature new experiences and a restaurant).

Back in World Showcase, our favorite little French man... or rat to be exact... will be joining the Epcot family. The Ratatouille-inspired attraction will be similar to the 4-D attraction Ratatouille: The Adventure that opened at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris. You will shrink to Remy’s size and scurry to safety in a dazzling chase across a kitchen with the sights, sounds and smells of Gusteau’s legendary Parisian restaurant.

Magic Kingdom

Of course the original Walt Disney World park cannot be left out as we prepare to celebrate its 50th Anniversary.

One of the top-rated attractions at Shanghai Disneyland has been the Tron roller coaster. Now Power Run is coming to the Magic Kingdom's Future World, settling in between Space Mountain and the Tomorrowland Speedway. Check out the video below on Tomorrowland in Shanghai to get an idea of the Tron ride!

So which of these new announcements has you the most excited?
