Excellent Fun for the Whole Family: Disney’s Family Magic Tour

​Walt Disney World offers a lot of tours behind the scenes at their parks. Some are for adults only, some for tweens and teens to adults only and even some that includes your preschoolers and kids. One of my favorites is Disney’s Family Magic Tour. My family has been on this tour twice and each time was full games, clues, silliness and even some surprises along the way.

​The Family Magic Tour starts at Guest Services in the Magic Kingdom where you meet your guide. You guide carries a bag of clues and even a map to help you along the way. The story is told and off you go hunting clues around the park to catch the suspect. 
 
Each tour we took had a slightly different scavenger hunt. Like finding Tinkerbell or recovering items lost around the Kingdom. The kids play a big part in deciphering the clues, but even I as an adult found my inner child danced, hopped and did all kinds of silly things along the way as you travel from Tomorrowland to Adventureland with stops in between.
 
Along the way and at the end you might run into some characters who just can’t wait to help you find the culprit. The characters change from tour to tour, but each character spends time with everyone, making sure everyone feels a part of the team. Also, you might get to go to the front of a line for a ride or show.

The tour takes about 2 hours to complete. Bottles of water were offered to us at the start of the tour as it was a really hot day. Be sure to pack your sunscreen as you will be outside more than inside. No strollers are allowed, so make sure your kids can walk the entire time. Our son got tuckered out and overheated at one point, but our guide was good about finding us some shade and getting a wet towel to help cool him down.
